Latest News: Windows 11 will soon let you know how long updates take to install. Featured Deal: This portable Posted 19 November - PM. I have two of these packs. Two 16gb 8 x2 packs. I was using 16gb for a while and it was working fine. But after installing the new ram, I still only get 16gb of ram to use.

I am aware that my motherboard does not support the speed of them ram, but it does support the ram itself. Edited by hamluis, 20 November - AM. Hi and to Bleeping Computer! Posted 20 November - AM.

Linux User and Windows 10 Lover. I think the issue is that 16 GB of it is "hardware reserved" and therefore not available to programs in Windows. I believe this usually has a physical underlying cause a problem with the memory or CPU for example or memory installed in an unsupported configuration. It can be caused by some of the memory slots not working properly for whatever reason.

Very occasionally it can be caused by a memory limit set in msconfig advanced boot options simply remove it, if present but more often than not, I think there's an underlying hardware cause.

Random example apparently down to faulty RAM. I'd suggest as a starting point going into BIOS and choosing "load optimised defaults" and then performing a complete memory test using Memtest86 free - you'll need to put it on a USB stick and boot from it. I'd also suggest testing your two memory kits individually to see whether the system boots correctly with each one. You might then move on to testing the memory slots by checking whether it will boot with a single DIMM in each memory slot.

Look at THIS. I now use Windows 10 and it has ruined my life. Posted 20 November - PM. Hi, very disappointing to see a scam site referenced by pcpunk, "restoro" is something you should not download, it has many names and is a total scam, as is most of the advice given on this site.

This is a mum's and dad's forum and discussion of memory is probably well beyond the conference of this forum. You do, as has already been alluded to, have nothing to worry about, you should not use msconfig or anything else to manage your memory, win 10 does this far better then you can the only real test is commit charge, you have plenty of memory and windows will use it if needed.

I have gb on this machine currently is hardware reserved. Hi, you are in a good position your commit limit is Community Forum Software by IP. Sign In Create Account. Started by zlapt , Nov 19 PM. Please log in to reply. I have just upgraded my ram today, from 16gb to 32gb. Nothing has seemed to work. The motherboard supports up to 64gb of ram I'm running a 64bit windows 10 system.

I have a Graphics Card. Not on board graphics My bios recognises the ram as x4 8gb sticks and says 32gb total. I have also attached a screenshot of my task manager, and uploaded my speccy txt file.

Please help, I've tried a lot of things and nothings working. Thank you so much for your time, Regards, Zlapt. Attached Files capture2. PNG Speccy shows that 32 GB of ram installed. What exactly you are trying to accomplish here? Posted 19 November - PM I am trying to get the whole 32gb working. Right now only 16gb is actually usable.
